Most Recent Customer ReviewsDate : 2010-02-14 Summary : AWFUL THIS CLOCK NEVER WORKED AT ALL. I GUESS YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...SPEND A FEW MORE DOLLARS, GET A BETTER CLOCK!!
Date : 2009-08-26 Summary : Hard to find, so happy to have it! I had a clock like this before and it finally died. More like my young child beat it death. I love the nap timer. It is espically great if you have somewhere you have to be. I have no problem reading the alarm clock and my nightstand is probably higher than most. The snooze bar seems to be the same as other snoze bars on clocks I have had in the past. And as for the reviews that say the alarm is to loud that also seems fine. My husband can sleep through anything. His clock is even louder. As for me this is the perfect clock!
Date : 2009-07-06 Summary : Disappointed While discussing the concept of a nap timer with my brother, we decided that someone, somewhere must have already established the concept. So I began looking for an integrated nap timer and alarm clock. I thought I'd found the perfect combo, but sadly, I was mistaken.
There are separate setting for "alarm" and "snooze" so there is no automatic snooze. This is a recipe for disaster, in my experience. There is also no option to "snooze" with the nap timer, which again was disappointing. (Or at least, not an obvious one) The backlight, while nice, only stays on for a short while, and the clock chirps every single time any button is pushed. For most, this wouldn't be an issue. However if one is trying to set an alarm with an already-sleeping-partner, the chirps are unnecessary and annoying. I suppose I'm making a big deal out of a snooze button, but I go out of my way to find a short (3-5 minute) snooze as it usually takes the second beep to clear the cobwebs.
I found that the alarm itself was sufficient, but the plethora of options was overkill. Do you really nead a "year" button on an alarm clock? Or even the date? Working rotating shifts makes for unusual challenges, and I was hoping for an easy, minimalistic solution as my alarm needs change on a daily basis and I do take frequent naps. However, I'm in the market for a new alarm clock, as I obviously need something more simple. That doesn't chirp when I try to set it. And "snooze" is the default, not just an option.
Date : 2008-08-04 Summary : Wish I'd gotten a different alarm My old Timex atomic clock started resetting itself to other random times. My main criteria for a replacement was that it have a dark display that wouldn't keep me awake with the glow. That's about the only good thing about this alarm clock, other than a decent shape/size.
I knew as soon as I had to set the time that I was going to need to get something else. First, there's a fiddly little switch on the top that you have to switch between time, calendar, alarm, and lock. You have to switch it back to lock at the end or it will keep blinking. Second, it only has a + button to set the time, so if you go past it, you have to loop back through, though it does at least have one button for hours and one for minutes, so you only have to loop through 12 or 60 rather than 720. Third, every time you press the button, it makes an irritating little beep. So, you can hold it down to get near the time, but then you'll want to let up and go minute by minute; this means you'll have to listen to the irritating little beep each time you advance it one minute.
But the worst thing is -- all those people who said it's too quiet -- they're right!! I'm a super-light sleeper, so I sleep with earplugs in, but I've never slept through an alarm before. Never. I have with this one! It's the same annoying little beep as when you press the button to set the time, just more frequently. I can't believe they even intended that to be an alarm noise, since, while grating, it's not that loud. I've already ordered two other options that I'm hoping I'll like better.
Date : 2008-03-04 Summary : Too beepy What I like:
1. Ability to see time, date, and alarm time at the same time.
2. Runs on batteries.
3. Attractive blue illumination.
What I don't like:
1. All the buttons beep, making it difficult to set the alarm late at night without waking up my wife.
2. The display is tilted back so far that it's impossible to read the numbers when you're level with the clock, such as when it's on a bedstand next to your head. You really need to be a foot or two above the clock to read it.
